Job Details: PrEP Coordinator

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Location: Main Center

 

The PrEP Coordinator will facilitate Center activities, resources, events and services regarding PreExposure Prophylaxis as an effective HIV prevention method. The Coordinator will increase the awareness of PrEP to high-risk individuals; expand the directory of culturally-competent medical providers prescribing PrEP; and provide direct linkage to care for people seeking access to PrEP as well as link newly diagnosed clients to the ID clinic.

  1. Increase the awareness of PrEP and nPEP among high-risk individuals
  2. Develop and expand online directory of educated, culturally-competent medical providers prescribing PrEP
  3. Provide basic non-clinical linkage-to-care and patient navigation for individuals seeking PrEP as a practical prevention tool
  4. Organize and facilitate new client orientations for PrEP
  5. Work with Data manager to collect data on opt-out testing on a monthly basis
  6. Link newly diagnosed clients from opt-out testing to ID clinic
  7. Maintain opt-out testing program to test at a minimum 10,000 HIV tests by March 31, 2021
  8. Collect and evaluate reports from clients to ensure access to PrEP and followthrough with service providers
  9. Organize the planning and deployment of a creative media plan to educate the public about HIV risk and PrEP/nPEP options through our Director of Marketing. Utlize editorial content, paid advertising, PSAs and social media platforms to raise awareness of PrEP
  10. Expand The Center’s printed and online educational materials on PrEP. Ensure the collection, collation and organization of resource, pamphlet, electronic article, and reference information and materials regarding PrEP
  11. Monitor the Confidential Histories section in the Electronic Health Record to identify those at high risk for HIV and more likely to benefit from a PrEP Coordinator consultation
  12. Promote and participate in related community and health events as needed
  13. Develop close working relationships with leadership and direct staff at other prevention clinics to ensure coordination of services
  14. Adhere to strict procedures of confidentiality, release of information and data security
  15. Provide HIV Counseling, Testing and Referrals as needed to at-risk populations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Ability to communicate (verbally or written) effectively to staff, patients, physicians and demonstrate professional standards in interacting with others.
  2. Knowledgeable in medical terminology and clinical documentation.
  3. Requires a high level of independent judgment and direction.
  4. Ability to be flexible in the work environment.
  5. Ability to problem solve.
  6. Organizational, planning and implementation skills required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Healthcare, Pharmacology or related field or licensed to practice as an LPN in the State of Georgia. (Bachelor’s degree accepted in other field if candidate demonstrates sufficient relevant work experience.) Seasoned experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, healthcare systems, outreach and health promotion. Able to obtain certification in HIV/AIDS Prevention Counseling, Testing and Motivational Interviewing as well as Rapid Testing Training Computer skills using Microsoft software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, social media apps).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions:

Administrative and medical office environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic and others substances common to clinic environment. May involve work under stress in emergency situations or during irregular hours.
