Description
Reports to the Clinical Director. The Peer Specialist is an active member of the SBLEC clinical team . Job duties include, but not limited to:
- Provide peer support services to clients with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders in the OTP and DATEP Program.
- Function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serve as a customer advocate, providing consumer information and peer support for clients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Perform a wide range of tasks to assist peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.
- Recovery resources such as booklets , tapes, pamphlets and other written materials will be utilized by the Peer Specialist in the provision of services.
Qualifications
M.D. degree with specialization and residency in Family Practice. One (1) year experience in healthcare setting. Must be board certified and hold a Georgia license.
